Empowering you with occupational therapy designed strategies to support kids to develop emotional regulation, motor skills, executive functioning skills, social connectedness and sensory processing through connection and movement. The program is goal driven and includes 15 yoga cards, 5 breathing activities and our Facilitator Guide with chapters on key areas of development

What is included:

Ready for Yoga Cards: A set of beautifully illustrated cards featuring 15 yoga poses and 5 breathing activities. On the back of each card you’ll find prompts, to support you to guide the child therapeutically through the pose or activity. Each card is designed to be engaging and easy to follow, helping children build physical, sensory, emotional, and cognitive skills.

Facilitator Guide: A detailed guide that provides step-by-step instructions and strategies for using the yoga cards effectively. It includes tips for integrating yoga into daily routines, fostering social connections, and enhancing executive functioning skills.

Play-Based Activity Ideas: Fun and interactive activities that promote regulation, interoceptive awareness, and motor skills development. These activities are designed to be enjoyable and beneficial for children of all abilities.

activities and games.

Goals of Ready for Yoga

The Ready for Yoga Program aims to address the following goals:

  1. Development of sensory based strategies to incorporate into everyday routines
  2. Utilising breathing and mindfulness strategies to foster emotional regulation and well-being
  3. Improved awareness of internal body cues and signals such as thirst, hunger, or needing to go to the toilet, contributing to improved independence
  4. Improved ability to respond to body cues and consequently better maintain appropriate emotional states
  5. Development of gross motor skills including strength, flexibility, balance and coordination
  6. Development of fine motor skills including strength and dexterity
  7. Fostering connection between children and their support people
  8. Establishing a trusting and safe foundation for a child to build skills and confidence
  9. Fostering social engagement with peers to enhance teamwork and collaborative skills
  10. Increasing self-confidence
  11. Development of executive functioning skills including planning, sequencing, attention and focus
  12. Improved understanding of how to incorporate strategies into everyday routines to support development
