Frequently Asked
My child is on a waitlist for OT, will your resources be beneficial for us?
Absolutely!
Our resources — including Connection Cards and Ready for Yoga — are designed to help children build key skills through a brain-body and connection-based approach, including co-regulation and self-regulation, motor skills, executive functioning, mindfulness, sensory processing, social engagement and connection
— all foundational to many occupational therapy goals. While you wait for OT
services, our resources give you valuable tools and insights as your child's support person, empowering you both to learn, grow and flourish together.
I'm an educator, support worker, support person, teacher ortherapist — will your resources be valuable for me to use with lots ofdifferent children?
Absolutely!
Our resources give you the information, education, strategies and modifications
to support children to build connection, regulation and everyday skills through
play, movement and shared experience. Depending on the child (or group of
children) and their goals, you can tailor how you use each resource — the
Companion Guides show you how to modify activities, and the cards themselves give you countless ways to create play-based, therapeutic activities for one child or a whole group.
My child is currently already accessing OT, can we still use it?
Yes!
Our resources complement occupational therapy interventions. They offer additional routine and home-based strategies for your child to practice outside of their sessions, reinforcing skills they may already be working on with their therapist — such as body awareness, emotional regulation, connection and
sensory processing. If you're currently working with an OT, we suggest touching base with them so they can guide you on which cards or activities to focus on to support your child's current therapy goals.
I don't know the specific goals my child or the child I am supporting (as a support worker, carer, or educator) needs to work on — will your resources still be useful?
Definitely!
Our resources focus on essential skills that benefit all children. Whether or
not you know the specific therapy or skill-area goals for the child, they can
help facilitate fun, joy and connection between you and the child you're
supporting. In the Companion Guide, we've included information on how to modify
each activity depending on a child's individual differences, so you can adapt
based on how the child engages. It's a great starting point for supporting a
child's overall wellbeing.
Can I use your cards and resources with a group of children?
Yes
— they're perfect for group settings! Whether you're working with children in a
classroom, a therapy group, or even a playgroup, our resources can be easily
adapted to suit multiple children at once. They encourage cooperation, social
engagement (at the level each child is comfortable with) and connection, making
them a fantastic tool for promoting group engagement while still supporting each child's individual development.
I am a therapist working with children and young adults, will this be a useful resource for me?
Absolutely!
As a therapist, Connection Cards and Ready for Yoga can be valuable resources to complement your therapeutic interventions. They offer structured activities designed to support connection, regulation, motor development, sensory processing and mindfulness. Flexible enough to integrate into individual or group sessions, they're a great way to reinforce skills while promoting overall
wellbeing — and a great tool to enhance your practice and offer additional support to your clients.
For new graduates or early-career therapists, our Companion Guides walk you
through the reasoning and possible modifications behind each activity, helping
you build confidence in your practice while delivering meaningful, considered
sessions.
